Last month, the House Appropriations Committee passed legislation that provides historic levels of federal funding ($260M) for social and emotional learning. The bill will be taken up shortly by the Senate Appropriations Committee. We ask your organization to sign on to this letter drafted by CASEL urging the committee to incorporate this funding into its bill. Details about how the funding will be spent is in the letter.
The deadline to sign on is Wednesday, May 29th, and if you miss this (we just learned about it ourselves) read the letter and directly contact your U.S. Senator to urge the committee to support it. We encourage individual members to do the same.
This funding is incredibly important.
