“Receiving the SEL4CA grant has truly transformed our PLC space into a warm, adult-friendly environment where collaboration can flourish. With this support, I was able to refurnish the room with adult sized tables and comfortable chairs, add inviting bulletin boards that highlight instructional practices, and offer snacks that help set a welcoming tone during our collaborative work.
Teachers were genuinely excited as the room evolved week by week—first with a new rug, then a small fireplace feature, then decorative centerpieces. I also invited several teachers to collaborate on the design choices, including the color palette and future additions, making the space feel shared and meaningful.
This refreshed environment has sparked renewed energy, engagement, and connection among our educators. Later this year, I plan to incorporate more interactive features to further enhance collaboration and deepen our professional learning. I’m truly grateful for the SEL4CA grant and the positive impact it continues to make in our community.”
