Reports from the 50 members who attended the August 4 event have been more than positive. Feedback centered around the event being both substantive and fun.
As one attendee said: “I met the greatest people today and am so encouraged about the potential for progress. It was really wonderful.”
And another attendee wrote: “What an upper to attend last Sunday’s SEL4CA gathering!!! And the story you shared with us about the evolution of the organization was fascinating.”
And a third said: “I was amazed by the quality of people there and the level of commitment. I made several new friends.”
From our new Executive Director Amy Cranston: “I thank all the Alliance members who were able to attend. It was wonderful to meet all of you and learn about all the great work you are doing in the SEL field. I look forward to all we will accomplish together as we take the Alliance and the SEL movement in California to the next level!”
Noted at the event is the fact that in the last year the Alliance has more than doubled our membership (now more than 300 individuals and more than 100 organizations) and has been active locally around the state and with the Legislature.
With Amy aboard, we look forward to greater growth, more statewide initiatives, to a higher-profile steering committee of key SEL leaders around the state (adding to our clout and visibility) and to our first statewide SEL conference (along with other events).
A major goal of Amy’s is to bring into the Alliance more major organizations – and we encourage you to help open those doors where you can.
