The American School Counselor Association named David G. Millen Law and Government Magnet Academy, SAGE Middle School Academy and Shadow Hills Engineering and Design Magnet Academy as Recognized ASCA Model Programs, or RAMP.
The RAMP designation recognizes schools that are committed to delivering an exemplary school counseling program. The association awards honorees for aligning their program with the criteria in the ASCA National Model, a framework for a data-informed school counseling program, according to a description.
Shadow Hills Academy school counselor Keisha Burns, SAGE Academy school counselor Christine Loukatos, and former Millen Academy school counselor Karen Alamo wrote, implemented, and applied for the RAMP designation.
California has 20 RAMP schools. Los Angeles County has four schools including the three middle schools in the Palmdale School District.
