The Association for Mindfulness in Education is a collaborative association of organizations and individuals working together to provide support for mindfulness training as a component of K-12 education. Challenge Day is a memorable experiential program that has reached more than 1.5 million youth and adults since 1987. The day-long experience strengthens emotional safety and social relationships, positively influences educational achievement, builds cross cultural connections, and reduces conflict and bullying. The Channing Bete Company offers the PATHS program, a comprehensive SEL curriculum that is evidence-based and proven effective. The premier SEL program, the PATHS curriculum is used around the world. It offers a common framework for effective SEL instruction from preschool through kindergarten and the elementary grades. Its convenient grade-level format makes implementation easy and effective. The PATHS program is grounded in the science of children’s brain development, which has determined that children experience and react to strong emotions before developing the cognitive abilities to verbalize them. The PATHS program’s practical, effective strategies have been developed and refined through nearly 30 years of research. Not only has it been included or cited in over 40 published studies and texts, but the PATHS program received the highest possible rating from Blueprints for Healthy Youth Development (Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, University of Colorado). CharacterStrong is an organization that provides curricula and trainings for schools internationally. Our trainings help educators infuse character and social-emotional learning into the daily fabric of any classroom or campus. Our curricula focus on character development in order to help students cultivate social-emotional skills, their emotional intelligence, and help them develop a stronger identity and purpose in school and in the world.
The original Charter for Compassion was supported by the TED annual prize awarded to Karen Armstrong in 2008. The Charter calls for people to act on it within their sphere of influence. There is great need for a Charter for Compassionate Schools that translates the principle of compassion to the uniqueness of the school world and acts as a rallying cry and unifying vision for schools and educational organizations across the globe.
The Children’s Movement of California® is demonstrating unprecedented support for children’s issues both in numbers and diversity from communities across California. By speaking in one voice on behalf of kids, the Movement is building the pressure necessary to move the needle on children’s health, education, and welfare policies. Children Now takes a whole-child approach, covering the full-range of key children’s issues, from prenatal through age 26, including early childhood development, education, children’s health, childhood trauma and resilience, foster care, and youth justice. This representation allows them to develop sensible policies, because children’s issues are interdependent and can’t be developed effectively in silos. Working across sectors allows them to identify, effective solutions that may not be visible when looking at the problem from one sector’s viewpoint. It also allows them to avoid the fragmentation that often pits single-issue organizations against each other causing strong solutions to be unintentionally derailed.
Choose Love Parenting provides coaching and workshops in Peaceful Parent. Parents gain tools to regulate their own emotions so that they can then treat their children with kindness andr respect. Mindfully connecting with kids teaches social and emotional skills through experience and example.

Convenient Fun Fitness provides a structured recess program, to make it a positive and productive time for all students. CF Fitness coaches encourages students to become scholars, and kids learn the core values of conflict resolution, respect and integrity. We are changing school cultures by leveraging the power of safe, fun, and healthy play at school every day. They create a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills. Students can become leaders in the Jr. coach program. They help run games and settle disagreements quickly using (rock-paper-scissors) because playing fair and safe is more fun than fighting. CF Fitness mission is to see every child across the United States develop skills through fun fitness routines with a safe structured environment while kids increase their higher level of thinking.

We believe that in order to empower communities to manage and direct their own development, strategies and expert knowledge must be conceived locally. EduCare After-School Program understands that low self-esteem, doubt, fear, and uncertainty can often be the greatest barriers to a student’s achievement, they encourage students to believe in themselves, and provide them with the tools they need to succeed. Their after-school programs are designed to give students the opportunity to develop their unique abilities, build relationships and find relevance in their educational experience. Their activities are unique to each school and include homework assistance & tutoring, academic enrichment, structured fitness classes and performing & fine arts activities. EduCare goes far beyond simply providing a safe space for students after school, offering many opportunities for learning and leadership.
Education Leaders of Color (EdLoC) is a membership organization dedicated to elevating the leadership, voices and influence of people of color in education and to leading more inclusive efforts to improve education. EdLoC aims to break through the polarizing divides that have consumed efforts to improve public education. Only by forging a third way can we stem the backlash facing even the most innovative, effective solutions and forge the alliances needed to realize and sustain EdLoC’s vision of providing low-income children of color expansive and substantive opportunities for the highest levels of academic and economic attainment.
The Emotional Literacy Foundation teaches people of all ages how to develop their emotional intelligence, so that we can use the power of emotions to create a more effective and compassionate society. We partner with school organizations, large and small, to foster the Emotional Literacy of all students and adults in that community.
